Master Ali Davani is one of the famous scholars in the field of Islamic history and biography writing in the current era. He has been educated in Najaf and Qum cities in presence of some well known professors. Emphasis on jurisprudents’ acquaintance with history, consideration of history in understanding of traditions, paying attention to ‘ilm al-rijal (science dealing with transmitters of hadīth) and biography writing, critical investigation of historical reputed propositions, working on contemporary history and the history of clergies and being active in the press and writing stories, are some of his major characteristics.
Some of his works are as follows:
Honorable figures in Islam, Iran Clergymen’s Movement, Jalal al-Din Davani’s Biography and History of Islam from the beginning to the migration of the holy phrophet (pbuh).
