The Prevention rule is a jurisprudential -legal rule that is very useful in the area of the penal law, and all Sunnite and Shiite jurisprudents agree on the validity and authenticity of the rule.
This rule tries to say that canonical punishments like the punishment for adultery, the punishment for thievery, wine drinking, etc. can be administered if there are no doubts or misgivings, and all the necessary conditions and regulations to prove and consequently administer the punishment are absolutely certain.
Thus, if the suspect himself or a piece of certain evidence challenges some of the conditions for the punishment of the sin, or claim that there has not been such a sin, or the judge himself doubts, the punishment will be cancelled.
