Ayatollah Namazi Shahrudi is one of the traditionalist in Mashhad seminary in the contemporary age,and because of his distinguished masteryonthe text and contents of Infalibles (A.S.)’s traditions, he ishonored with title “Present time ‘Allama Majlisī”. Mustadrakāt ‘Ilm Rijāl al-Ḥadīth and Mustaṭrafāt al-Ma‘ālīare the two books that are compiled by Ayatollah Namazi Shahrudiand considered as contemporary collectionsof biographical works. The writer believes that the compiler has manged toobservethe blind spots in earlierrijālī collections and to take into consideration what had been neglected thereby. Based on the writer’s idea, Ayatollah Namaziwith direct reference to all traditional sources has added a large number of narrators to the previous collections and consequently increased their number up to 18000. According to writers studies those narrators that are mentioned in Mustaṭrafāt al-Ma‘ālī are also alphabetically listed by Kashshī in hisRijāl. In addition Ayatollah Namazi by adding lots of useful and valuable matters has provided a collection for a brief familiarity with the narrators.
