“Ghurur” is a rule which has been discussed frequently in the religious jurisprudential texts. The gist of this rule is that when someone is deceived by the deeds or words of another person, and it causes him/her to suffer a loss, that very person should compensate for his/her damage. This rule has also been useful in the legal processes of Iran. This paper is to pay attention to the reasons and explanations of this rule, and also has taken a look at the relationship between this rule and the other issues.
